The START program is recruiting carers to test the feasibility of an 8-week support program, using videoconferencing.
The START program is for carers of people with dementia and the focus is to lessen carer stress while improving quality of life. This research on the program aims to make the program available for carers throughout Australia, particularly in rural and remote areas.

A FREE MUSICAL PERFORMANCE has been organised by The Haven Day Centre with musicians from the Melbourne Recital Centre. The musical performance is on Thursday the 30th of November from 11am and again from 1pm.
The show is organised for a diversity of community groups such as people living with disabilities, people living with dementia and their carers, people in care, people who may be socially isolated or people financially disadvantaged. For participants who have difficulty getting to our venue, we may be able to assist with transport costs.

As you know the Commonwealth is implementing Wellness and Reablement in the CHSP program and this has prompted the need to change the ASM Industry Consultant name to reflect this policy direction. Our new title is now 'Wellness & Reablement Consultant'

Ayesha Fathers joins the Sector Development Team, commencing in her role as RDC on Tuesday 23 May, 2017. We are excited to have Ayesha on board as her role will facilitate and drive sector development and change management. It will provide implementation support to agencies, DoH and DHHS, over the transition period to ensure that change occurs in a planned and managed way to minimise the impact on clients and their families.
